Products & Quality

Every CT Race Worx part is designed and made in-house at our facility at 4801 Starcrest Drive in Monroe, NC. Whether it's a sheet metal part getting lasered and formed or a machined part coming off one of our 7 CNC machines, it's done here. We do not import, outsource, or rebrand. From raw billet to finished product, everything happens under our roof with our team of 20+ employees. We've been building off-road parts since 2007.

It depends on the application. We only use USA-sourced material. Our aluminum parts are 6061-T6511 (tow plates, X3 shock mounts) or 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum (radius rods, tie rods, tow hooks), 4130 chromoly steel (race-series radius rods, race gusset kits, chromoly A-arms), or Grade 50, 60, and 100 steel (gusset kits, trailing arms, shock mounts). Misalignment spacers use 303 or 17-4 stainless steel. Rod ends are FK Bearings — the same series of joints used in trophy trucks.

7075-T6 aluminum has nearly twice the yield strength of 6061-T6 (73,000 PSI vs 40,000 PSI). It's called aircraft-grade because it's one of the most used alloys in airplane structural components. The key difference is memory — 7075 can deflect on impact up to 15 degrees and spring back to shape, while 6061 bends permanently. CT Race Worx uses 7075-T6 in our radius rods and critical suspension components.

Our WORX Series and Tier 1 radius rods are machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum — lightweight, strong, and excellent for trail riding and recreational racing. Our Chromoly Race Series rods are made from 4130 chromoly steel. Each is stronger in different ways: chromoly can dent on impact but resists compression and pulling forces better, which matters in short course racing or dune riding, while aluminum absorbs impact without denting. Our Desert Series Maverick R radius rods are slugged with 7075 so the tube can't dent, retaining its shape and more than doubling its strength (at the cost of some added weight). For most trail riders, billet is the best choice. For dedicated race builds in the desert or short course, chromoly wins.

We call it cheap insurance because it reinforces the two areas on the Can-Am X3 most prone to cracking and failure. It's the first upgrade we recommend for every X3 owner, regardless of how hard they ride.

A double-shear spindle mount is a CT Race Worx patented innovation for the Can-Am Maverick R. The factory uses a single-shear design where the ball joint stud passes through only one side of the knuckle. Our design passes the bolt through the knuckle and into our bracket, giving the uniball firm support on both sides — distributing the load across two planes and effectively doubling the shear strength.
